Stringart.nz is a small, heart-led project by one person who simply loves making string art. This isn’t a big company or a full-time job – it’s a labour of love, done in spare moments because creating these pieces genuinely makes me happy.
How it started
It began with a few nails, some string, and a lot of curiosity. I made my first pieces as gifts for family and friends, and slowly people started asking, “Can you make one for me?”
Stringart.nz grew out of that question. This online shop is my way of sharing that same joy more widely – without turning it into something rushed or mass-produced. Every piece is still made by hand, one at a time, here in Aotearoa New Zealand.
What you’re getting
When you order from Stringart.nz, you’re not getting something off a warehouse shelf. You’re getting:
A handcrafted piece made with patience and care
Real wood, real nails, and quality thread
Small variations that make every artwork one-of-a-kind
I take my time with each design – from planning the layout, to hammering every nail, to carefully winding the string until it “clicks” into place and the pattern comes alive.
Why I do it
In a world that moves quickly and lives mostly on screens, string art slows things down. There’s something grounding about creating something you can see, hold, and hang on your wall.
For me, it’s a way to:
Relax and focus
Turn simple materials into something meaningful
Create pieces that make people smile when they see them in their homes
A small shop with a big heart
Because this is a passion project, not a production line, I keep things simple: a carefully chosen range of designs, made with care, and sent out from New Zealand with genuine appreciation.
If you’ve found your way here – thank you. Whether you’re looking for a unique gift, something special for your home, or you’re just curious about string art, I’m glad you’re here.
And if you’ve got an idea you’d love to see in string, you’re always welcome to get in touch – I’m always interested in new ideas and designs.
Ngā mihi,
Stringart.nz
